Who We Are
Established in 2021, Ajr Islamic Foundation is a registered charitable organization dedicated to serving and integrating the Central Asian (Bukharis) community and local Muslims in Canadian society through advancing Islamic knowledge and values as well as preparing, nurturing and upbringing a generation of future leaders. The Canadian-Uzbekistani community has been the propelling force behind establishing its first non-profit organization in Canada. As inheritors of great Islamic tradition of Central Asia, we take pride in our heritage based on high morals, diversity, open-mindedness, civic engagement and community building. For our dynamically growing community, the word ‘Ajr’ signifies righteous good deeds, acts of kindness that serves and benefits local community. AIF aspires to offer the community and the youth specifically a place to learn, interact, play and grow spiritually, intellectually and physically. We do this by:

• Establishing a Community Centre that will offer religious services and community events through nurturing and promoting our faith, cultural heritage and traditions;
• Engaging our youth in various educational programs and volunteer activities through adhering to the true Islamic teachings and time-honored traditions, teaching and preserving Central Asian languages;
• Uniting and engaging community members and help those in need, representing the Central Asian community at large in the Greater Toronto Area;
• Offering charitable assistance to those in need with a focus on youth and newcomers to our community;
• Generating the necessary funds to support all activities of the organization through promoting volunteerism and culture of giving.

Mission
To establish a Community Centre which will provide unique services and programs to local community members and youth through enhancing the Islamic identity and promoting cultural values.
